Who is in Control

For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice. Romans. 7:19

Focus on Christ

What do you think gives you the most trouble?

The real difficulty in life of a believer is in dealing with their old nature that never disappears. That nature is sin. Not someone else’s sin, not someone else’s influence, not some lack of opportunity in life, it is sin that dwells in you.

If there is one thing that you must pay attention to as a believer, it is that you still have an old nature that will lead you to sin if you drop your guard.  The Apostle Paul did not teach that there is no power over sin. He taught that you have no power over sin. When Christ is exalted, Satan flees, self is defeated, and you experience the abundant Spirit-filled life.

When living for Christ, you experience a new nature. Live up to who you really are in Christ.

Focus on Self

Self is full of sin. Sin is in control when you walk in the flesh. The only way to defeat sin is to live up to a higher standard, life in Christ. Self will tend to choose easy and comfortable decisions whether they are right or wrong. Love God with all your heart, mind, soul and you will see a consistent walk of holiness. Only then will Christ be in control.
